How to become a volunteer at Hospitality House

We are able to feed the community because of those who volunteer their time and talents in our mission. From long-term volunteer projects to one-day volunteer shifts, there is a way for you to get involved. Click the buttons to the left to sign up!

Frequently Asked Questions

We have volunteer opportunities for any age. However, volunteers under 14 must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian.

All volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete complete a consent form. (See step 4 from above.)

The group coordinator should complete this group interest form. Someone from Hospitality House will reply within 72 hours to schedule the group. Once scheduled, each group member will need to register as a volunteer.  (Complete steps 1-6 above.

You may volunteer during our client service hours. (Mon: Noon - 7pm, Tues: 12pm - 4pm, Thurs: 10am - 2pm, and Sat: 10am - 2pm). Please view open shifts here.  Other opportunities may be available when the pantry is closed to clients beginning at 9am Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  Special events also require the help of volunteers, too. These special shifts will be added to SignUpGenius. 

Volunteers choose how frequently and how many hours they like to work within the prescribed business hours of the pantry under most circumstances. There are shifts available during off hours, as well. 

Students typically volunteer outside of school hours. (Monday afternoons or Saturdays except for school breaks.)

Yes, you may complete court-ordered community service at HHFP. However, please keep in mind we utilize the Good Moral Character guidelines as established by the MDHH. Generally such guidelines prohibit offenses of a violent or sexual nature, offenses involving guns, and offenses involving children.  

It is your responsibility to document your volunteer hours at the end of each shift. Please complete this form at the end of each shift.
