Pantry Staffer (1 position available)
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: Grant funded: This is a 100% grant-funded position with an anticipated grant end date of December 31, 2020 ($15 hourly) Status: Temporary Part Time
Type: Part Time 20 hours weekly Monday (Noon – 7pm), Thursdays (10am – 2pm) Saturdays (11am – 2pm) extra hours are flexible.
General Statement of Duties
The Pantry Staffer is responsible for assisting food pantry clients through the food pantry and or prepare food boxes or carts for distribution. Pantry staffers inform clients of the amount of product they may remove from pantry shelves and follow pantry food distribution guidelines. In addition, to verifying outgoing poundage and completing minor paperwork. Other duties may include but are not limited to light cleaning, sorting and or handling of food and supplies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED. Patience working with limited English speaking clients. Experience with retail and or customer service a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
General business related computer skills, including the ability to learn and use non-profit data management programs.
Excellent management and organizational skills – ability to prepare written reports on a timely basis
Ability to effectively cultivate positive relationships with all the stakeholders: volunteers, staff, board members, donors, the business community and the general public.
Ability to plan, research and act
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment
